Top Experienced has joined the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad, according to Anthony Rizzuti of USA Today. This move comes shortly after Chisena was released from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad on October 11. Despite his release, Chisena quickly found a new opportunity with the Panthers.
Chisena, a former Penn State player, made appearances in four games for the Cardinals this season, contributing almost exclusively on special teams. Of the 54 total snaps he played, 53 were on special teams, indicating his primary role was outside of offensive duties. This aligns with his history as a special teams player, as he’s known for his speed and ability to cover punts and kickoffs effectively.
While Chisena’s current role is on the practice squad, there is potential for him to move up to Carolina’s active roster later this season. If the Panthers experience injuries in their wide receiver group, Chisena could be called upon to fill in, although he would likely continue to focus on special teams rather than take on a significant role in the offense. His experience in that area could be valuable for Carolina as they navigate the rest of the season.
