LSU head coach Brian Kelly provided injury updates on wide receivers Chris Hilton and CJ Daniels ahead of the team’s matchup against Arkansas. Redshirt junior Chris Hilton, who has been sidelined all season due to an ankle injury, will remain unavailable for Saturday’s game.
On a more positive note, graduate senior wide receiver CJ Daniels is listed as probable after a productive practice on Thursday. Daniels had missed LSU’s previous game against Ole Miss due to a knee injury, but his likely return will bolster the team’s receiving corps.
With Daniels expected to play, LSU will continue to rely on him along with redshirt sophomore Aaron Anderson, fifth-year senior Kyren Lacy, and junior Zavion Thomas at wide receiver. Additionally, freshman tight end Trey’Dez Green will see more time at wide receiver, a role Kelly previously announced on Monday. Kelly emphasized that while Green’s involvement will be limited, the team intends to make it impactful.
“We’re going to keep his role minimal, but significant,” Kelly said. He highlighted the importance of integrating Green into the game plan without overwhelming him and risking mistakes that could slow the offense. Kelly believes the coaching staff has found the right balance, and Green has responded well to the increased responsibility.
LSU’s receiver group will be key in the game against Arkansas, and the return of Daniels, along with Green’s new role, adds more depth to the Tigers’ offensive attack.
