Maxx Crosby recently addressed the trade of his close friend and teammate, Davante Adams, from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets. Speaking on his podcast, Crosby expressed his deep bond with Adams, calling him his “twin” and “brother.” Despite Adams’ departure, Crosby emphasized their strong relationship, noting that they remain close. He shared that he attended Adams’ daughter’s birthday party recently and expressed his best wishes for Adams in his new chapter with the Jets, where he reunites with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Crosby acknowledged Adams’ decision to move on, saying that as a professional, Adams had to make the best choice for his career.
While Crosby remains committed to the Raiders, he is aware of the difficulties the team has faced. With a 2-5 record and a tough season ahead, the Raiders are struggling, and Adams’ trade came after he had only played three games due to a hamstring injury. His departure raised questions about the Raiders’ long-term vision, as Adams, though one of the best receivers in the league, is getting older.
Despite a challenging situation with head coach Antonio Pierce and the team’s lack of success, Crosby and Adams have maintained their friendship. The Raiders are now trying to salvage their season, heading into a tough Week 8 matchup against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. While Crosby and rookie tight end Brock Bowers provide talent on the roster, the team faces uncertainty, especially at the quarterback position. It will be a significant challenge for Pierce to rally the team and maximize their remaining opportunities. The rest of the season will be crucial for the Raiders as they look to overcome their struggles and finish strong.
