Done Deal: Just In Kris Knoblauch Announced The Signing Of Another Top Veteran

The Edmonton Oilers have officially signed forward  to a three-year entry-level contract. O’Reilly, an 18-year-old centreman, was the Oilers’ first-round pick, 32nd overall, in the 2024 NHL Draft held in June. This marks an important step for the young prospect as he continues to develop his skills.

O’Reilly had a strong showing during his time with the Oilers in rookie and training camps, showcasing his potential for the future. He also participated in the Young Stars Classic in Penticton, where he represented Edmonton. Additionally, O’Reilly played in four preseason games for the Oilers, making a solid impression by scoring one goal during that period.

After his time with the Oilers, O’Reilly was returned to his junior club, the London Knights, who compete in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Now in his second full season with the Knights, he has continued to build on his early success. In six games so far this season, O’Reilly has scored two goals and contributed three assists. Over the course of his OHL career, which spans 80 games, he has accumulated a total of 22 goals and 39 assists, demonstrating his ability to be both a goal-scorer and a playmaker.

O’Reilly’s journey with the Oilers is just beginning, but his signing represents the team’s confidence in his abilities and potential. With his strong performance in both junior and preseason games, the Oilers believe he has the talent and work ethic to eventually make an impact at the NHL level. As he continues his development in the OHL with the Knights, fans and management alike will be closely watching his progress.

The signing of O’Reilly is an exciting moment for the Oilers’ organization, as they add a promising young talent to their prospect pool. His continued growth in the junior leagues will be key to his future success in the NHL, and Edmonton will look forward to seeing him in action in the coming years.
