Good News: Joan Baez Release Another Top Song Today

Joan Baez’s music is back in the spotlight as she takes on a key role in the highly anticipated Bob Dylan biopic, *A Complete Unknown*, set for release around Christmas. This excitement has helped revive interest in one of her classic songs, “Diamonds & Rust.” The single has recently debuted on two U.K. charts, with a position at No. 56 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and No. 61 on the Official Singles Sales chart.

This marks Baez’s first appearance on these charts, largely because her peak success came long before platforms like iTunes and Amazon existed.

The folk icon rose to prominence alongside Dylan during the 1960s, and their romantic relationship, which spanned from 1961 to 1965, is said to be a central focus in the upcoming film.

“Diamonds & Rust,” released in 1975, was written by Baez about her relationship with Dylan. The song was a success at the time and has since become one of her most recognizable hits. Its re-entry into the charts suggests that both longtime fans and new listeners are revisiting the track as the film sparks renewed interest in her music.
