Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has reportedly identified Dennis Allen as a top candidate to take over as head coach coach Antonio Pierce If He Is Sacked. Allen, who brings significant experience to the role, would be a familiar face for the Raiders organization, as he previously served as their head coach from 2012 to 2014.
Davis is said to value Allen’s extensive coaching background, which includes his current role as head coach of the New Orleans Saints before been Sacked, and he is seen as someone who could bring stability and leadership to the Raiders.
Although Pierce, who took over mid-season, has brought some fresh energy and passion to the team, Davis appears to be exploring more seasoned options as he considers the future direction of the franchise.
Allen’s coaching experience could make him an attractive option for Davis if he seeks a veteran presence to guide the team forward. However, any decision on the Raiders’ head coaching position is likely to be influenced by the team’s performance under Pierce for the remainder of the season. Davis will likely evaluate how Pierce handles the Coach role before finalizing a decision, but Allen’s name being floated signals a desire for experienced leadership if a change is deemed necessary.
