Good News: Buffalo Bills Announced The Signing Of Another Top Veteran Free Agent To 53-Men Roster

**Bills Promote Jalen Virgil to Active Roster Amid Wide Receiver Injuries**

The Buffalo Bills have promoted wide receiver Jalen Virgil from the practice squad to the team’s active 53-man roster, as announced on Friday. Virgil, who spent the first nine weeks of the season on the Bills’ practice squad, has been elevated twice for game day, demonstrating his readiness to step up amid the team’s current needs at wide receiver.

The Bills made the move in response to the absence of wide receiver Keon Coleman, who is sidelined with a wrist injury for the team’s upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts. Additionally, wide receiver Amari Cooper is listed as questionable with his own wrist issue, leaving the Bills short-staffed in their receiving corps. Virgil’s promotion aims to address these gaps and bolster the Bills’ offensive depth.

Originally joining the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2022, Virgil carved out a niche on special teams and as a speedy receiving option. During his college years at Appalachian State, he made a name for himself with 98 receptions, totaling 1,436 yards and 11 touchdowns across five seasons. Known for his exceptional speed, Virgil was highlighted by The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman as one of college football’s “Freaks” due to his standout athleticism.

Since his transition to the NFL, Virgil has recorded five receptions, totaling 75 yards and a touchdown. His quickness and agility have allowed him to contribute effectively when given the opportunity, and the Bills are looking to harness these attributes as they bring him up to the main roster.

At 26 years old, Virgil hails from Lawrenceville, Georgia, and is eager to make an impact with the Bills. With both Coleman and Cooper potentially unavailable, Virgil could play a significant role in the team’s upcoming matchups. His promotion reflects the Bills’ confidence in his abilities, both in contributing to the offensive strategy and providing reliable support amidst the team’s injury challenges.

This roster adjustment underscores the Bills’ commitment to flexibility, ensuring that they can maintain offensive effectiveness even with injuries to key players. For Virgil, this promotion represents an important opportunity to showcase his skills on a larger stage and to potentially solidify his place within the active roster moving forward. Fans and coaches alike will be watching to see how Virgil seizes this chance to make a difference in the Bills’ lineup.
