Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a wrist injury, with Bills head coach Sean McDermott indicating Coleman might miss additional weeks. Coleman’s injury occurred in last week’s game against the Miami Dolphins when he took a hard hit from safety Jordan Poyer during Buffalo’s game-winning drive. Poyer was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play, helping the Bills set up a franchise-record 61-yard field goal by Tyler Bass for a 30-27 victory.
Coleman, a second-round pick out of Florida State, has been a strong contributor in his debut season. He currently holds 417 receiving yards, ranking second on the team, and shares the lead in receiving touchdowns with three. His absence could impact the AFC East-leading Bills (7-2) as they look to maintain momentum.
Additionally, wide receiver Amari Cooper is questionable for a second consecutive game as he continues to recover from his own wrist injury. Cooper, who joined the Bills in a recent trade from Cleveland, practiced in a limited capacity this week while wearing a wrist brace. Since joining Buffalo, he’s logged five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown over two games.
The Bills also added backup linebacker Baylon Spector to the injury report, listing him as questionable with a calf issue sustained in practice. While Buffalo faces some notable absences, there is good news on the defensive side. Starting cornerback Christian Benford, who missed last week due to a wrist injury, has been cleared to play and is no longer on the injury list.
With key players like Coleman and possibly Cooper sidelined, the Bills will need other offensive contributors to step up as they prepare for their matchup against the Colts. The return of Benford is a welcome boost to the defense, as Buffalo aims to hold their position atop the AFC East despite a challenging injury situation.
