The Texas Men’s Basketball program has officially signed top national prospect John Clark to its fall recruiting class, as head coach Rodney Terry announced. A highly rated forward from Houston, Texas, Clark has committed to play for The University of Texas under an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) beginning next season.
Standing 6-foot-9 and weighing 230 pounds, Clark is currently attending Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, but previously played three seasons at Klein Cain High School in Klein, Texas. According to major recruiting services, he’s ranked among the top 50 prospects in the nation for the class of 2025—rated No. 37 by 247 Sports Composite, No. 38 by On3, No. 40 by ESPN, No. 42 by Rivals, and No. 45 by 247 Sports.
“John Clark brings a special combination of finesse and strength to the game, along with the versatility vital for success in the SEC,” noted Blue Zertuche, a recruiting analyst from Great American Shoot-Out. Zertuche added that Clark’s ability to score near the basket, coupled with his physical playing style, will help him thrive in a competitive setting and advance his skills further.
Clark recently earned recognition as an All-Adidas Performer on the Adidas 3SSB circuit while representing T.J. Ford Elite. During his junior year, he averaged 17.8 points and 13.1 rebounds per game with an impressive 61-percent shooting rate, leading Class 6A in Texas for rebounds per game and accumulating 22 double-doubles. His performance helped Klein Cain reach the first round of the 2024 UIL Class 6A state tournament, and he was named to the All-Greater Houston Boys Basketball second team by the *Houston Chronicle*.
