Breaking: “He won’t be out there” packers get massive break as Bears rule out key starter

The Chicago Bears are set to face the Green Bay Packers this Sunday at Soldier Field in the latest chapter of the NFL’s oldest rivalry. This game, the 209th meeting between the two teams, sees Green Bay leading the all-time series with a record of 107-95-6. The Packers come in with a solid 6-3 record, aiming to stay competitive in the NFC North alongside the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, the Bears, after a strong start to the season with a 4-2 record, are currently struggling with a 4-5 record due to a recent losing streak.

In a significant development, the Bears announced they will be without a key defensive starter for this matchup, giving the Packers an advantage. Bears safety Jaquan Brisker, who has been dealing with concussion symptoms, will miss his fifth consecutive game since being injured in Week 5. Brisker sustained the concussion while delivering a hard hit to Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble. Despite the physical impact on both players, Brisker has experienced lingering symptoms and has yet to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus confirmed on Wednesday that Brisker would not be playing against Green Bay. “They’re still working through the concussion protocol and working with the trainers,” Eberflus stated, emphasizing that Brisker’s return remains uncertain and is being evaluated on a week-to-week basis. Brisker’s absence leaves a gap in Chicago’s defense, which has relied on his ability to cover ground and make impactful plays. His contributions in past games have been valuable, and losing him for another week could have a noticeable effect on the Bears’ defensive performance.

The Packers, looking to build on their winning record, will likely see this as a fortunate break. Brisker’s absence could potentially open up more opportunities for Green Bay’s offensive unit, as the Bears’ secondary depth will be tested. Green Bay’s quarterback and receivers may find more success in the passing game, targeting areas where Brisker would typically defend.

This injury update only heightens the stakes for Sunday’s rivalry game, as the Packers aim to capitalize on their opponent’s weakened defense, while the Bears hope to overcome the setback and end their losing streak at home.
