Official Huskers News: Just In Nebraska Cornhuskers Wins Another Commitment Of 4-Star Safety

Nebraska Secures Third Commit for 2026 Recruiting Class

Nebraska football continues to make strides both on the field and in recruiting, with a new addition to its 2026 class. On Wednesday night, Windermere, Florida safety CJ Bronaugh announced his commitment to the Huskers, becoming Nebraska’s first defensive pledge for the cycle.

Bronaugh joins quarterback Dayton Raiola and wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte as the third member of the 2026 recruiting class. Rated as a three-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite, Bronaugh is ranked among the top 35 safeties in the nation for his class.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 170 pounds, Bronaugh attracted interest from several prominent programs, including Baylor, Wisconsin, Florida State, and Minnesota. His versatility on the field has been a key asset—he’s played both safety and cornerback in high school while also contributing as a wide receiver. This season, he helped lead Windermere to a perfect 10-0 record.

Bronaugh is not only a football standout but also a track star. As a sophomore, he won Florida’s 1A state titles in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, showcasing his exceptional speed and athleticism.

This commitment adds to the Huskers’ recruiting momentum, coming just two weeks after they flipped 2025 edge rusher Dawson Merritt from Alabama. With early signing day for the 2025 class just around the corner, Nebraska’s current 19-player class is ranked 23rd nationally by 247Sports. The Huskers are also in strong positions with several other high-profile recruits.

As Nebraska builds on its recruiting successes, the team’s progress on the field continues to bolster its appeal. A win in their upcoming game against Iowa could further enhance the program’s standing and recruiting momentum.

Bronaugh’s addition is another positive step for Nebraska’s 2026 class, signaling the program’s growing promise under its current trajectory.
