Breaking News: Florida State confirm the departure of another top super star

It seems like KJ Bolden, a 5-star safety from Buford, Georgia, who was initially committed to Florida State, has decided to flip his commitment to the University of Georgia. Bolden, one of the top safeties in the nation, has been a target for Georgia throughout his high school career, with head coach Kirby Smart playing a significant role in his recruitment.

Bolden’s decision to switch from Florida State to Georgia came on the first day of the early signing period. He mentioned that Coach Kirby Smart’s unique approach and ability to build relationships played a pivotal role in his decision. Bolden expressed admiration for Smart, describing him as different from other coaches and someone who can be a mentor, friend, brother, and coach simultaneously.

This recruitment saw twists and turns, as Georgia had initially been the favorite, but Bolden surprised many by committing to Florida State on August 5. Despite his commitment to the Seminoles, Georgia continued its recruitment efforts. Bolden visited Georgia for the South Carolina game early in the season, and a final in-home visit from Coach Smart, Will Muschamp, and director of recruiting David Cooper seemed to influence his decision.

With KJ Bolden’s commitment, Georgia’s 2024 class strengthens further. Bolden is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound safety, ranking as the nation’s No. 1 safety, No. 15 overall recruit, and the No. 3 prospect in Georgia. His commitment contributes to Georgia’s impressive recruiting class, currently ranked at No. 1, and brings the total number of signees to 28, making it the third-highest total in program history. Bolden joins other defensive backs in this class, including Demello Jones, Ellis Robinson IV, and Ondre Evans.
