Breaking News: Just In Alabama Loses 4-Star DL To Auburn Tigers

The Saraland Spartan announced his transfer from the Crimson Tide to the Tigers. Since hiring Hugh Freeze last year, the Auburn Tigers have gained recruiting momentum. Auburn recently landed the No. 7 Class of 2024 with two 5-star players, but the good news doesn’t stop there.

Antonio Coleman, a 2025 defensive lineman, announced On3 Sports that he was switching his commitment from the Alabama Crimson Tide to the Auburn Tigers.

Merry Flipmas: Auburn gets elite in-state DL Antonio Coleman flipped from Alabama

Coleman, a 4-star prospect from the 6A state runner-up Saraland Spartans, had committed to Alabama in September but changed his mind on Friday.

He is the No. 13 overall defensive lineman and the No. 10 player in the state of Alabama in the Class of 2025, standing at 6-foot-2, 285 pounds.

His departure leaves Alabama with seven commits for the following class, but the No. 2 class is still in the early phases of the next cycle. In the following cycle, the Auburn Tigers are right on the Tide’s tail, having the No. 3 class with eight commits.

Coleman’s Saraland teammate Ryan Williams is one little factor to consider in his flip. Coleman’s classmate, Williams, is a Crimson Tide commit who is set to sign with Alabama in February. Could the defensive lineman persuade the wide receiver to reconsider and come to The Plains?

Although the Class of 2025 will not sign papers for another year, this recruiting competition will be one to watch as the Tide and Tigers compete for the in-state product.
