Standing at 6’1″ and weighing 200 pounds, Walker, hailing from the Nashville area and Ensworth High School, started alongside long-time safety Jaylen McCollough, who is now out of eligibility. This departure compounds the challenge for the Volunteers, as they must now seek replacements for both starting safeties.
The transfer portal has been a recurring theme for Tennessee’s defensive backs, with several key players opting to explore other opportunities. Alongside Walker, notable names include Tamarion McDonald, Doneiko Slaughter, De’Shawn Rucker, Jack Luttrell, Brandon Turnage, and Warren Burrell. In response to the departures, Tennessee has made strategic moves in the transfer market, securing Jakobe Thomas from Middle Tennessee State University and freshman All-American Jermod McCoy from Oregon State.
