Texas Rangers Top Transfer Target sends strong message to Bruce Bochy Amid Interest

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler has emphatically responded to the Texas Rangers’ reported interest in signing longtime Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw. The defending champion Rangers have expressed interest in acquiring the services of the 35-year-old Kershaw, who is a free agent after spending an impressive 16 seasons with the Dodgers.

According to a report by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Rangers are actively pursuing the former Cy Young winner Kershaw. In response to these reports, Buehler, who is set to return to the Dodgers’ rotation after undergoing his second Tommy John surgery, expressed his strong opposition to the idea. In a post to X, Buehler succinctly delivered a powerful message: “NO!”

Buehler and Kershaw have been teammates since 2017, and it is evident that Buehler is not keen on seeing Kershaw depart from the Dodgers. The decision, however, ultimately rests with Kershaw, who recently underwent shoulder surgery and faces an uncertain future in terms of his playing career.

While the Rangers present an intriguing option for Kershaw, given his Texas roots and long-standing ties to a potential move to Arlington, Buehler is hopeful for at least one more season alongside the veteran left-hander. Buehler envisions a scenario where he and Kershaw share the Dodgers’ rotation, with Shohei Ohtani serving as the designated hitter and the additions of pitchers Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto contributing to a robust and healthy pitching staff.

The dynamics of the situation highlight the strong camaraderie and desire within the Dodgers organization to keep Kershaw in their ranks for another season. As the offseason unfolds, the fate of Kershaw’s future in baseball and potential decisions by the Rangers will undoubtedly be closely monitored by fans and the baseball community alike.
