Josh Allen’s Name Who He Wants As Bills offensive Coordinator

The Bills elevate Joe Brady to full-time offensive coordinator with Josh Allen’s backing.
NEW YORK, BUFFALO (AP) โ€” Thanks to Josh Allen’s endorsement and a desire to keep things consistent, Joe Brady became the Buffalo Bills’ full-time offensive coordinator.

Less than a week after Buffalo’s season came to an end with a 27-24 loss to Kansas City in the divisional playoff round, the team made the announcement on Sunday.

After Ken Dorsey was sacked by the Bills in mid-November, Brady finished the season as their acting coordinator.

With a fresh focus on the running assault, Brady’s Bills offense had more balance in its final seven regular-season games and two postseason contests. Additionally, Brady developed secondary receiving threats in rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid and second-year receiver Khalil Shakir, which helped free up the passing game.

The Bills conducted a brief interview process last week, which included Brady, before making their pick. Brady also had an interview with the Atlanta Falcons regarding their head coaching position, which Raheem Morris has since taken over.

On Tuesday, Brady’s abilities in collaboration and communication were praised by coach Sean McDermott.

According to Brandon Beane, general manager, Brady “deserves serious consideration for this job.”

And Allen was already on board with Brady.

“I’d welcome it wholeheartedly. Joe is my love. During a press conference on Monday to wrap out the season, Allen added, “I adore what he brings to the team.” “I think we got back to some simpler concepts, did simple better with him.”

After serving in the same capacity for the Carolina Panthers during the 2020โ€“21 season, Brady is getting another opportunity to work as an NFL coordinator. One month before the 2021 season came to a close, he was let go by Carolina.

The next season, Brady was hired by the Bills to train their quarterbacks.

The 34-year-old initially gained notoriety while serving as LSU’s wide receivers coach and coordinator of the passing game under Ed Orgeron. Brady was named the 2019 Broyles Award winner for best college football assistant after the Tigers, captained by Joe Burrow, went 15-0 and captured the national championship.

With Eric Washington leaving the team to take a position as defensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears, McDermott has an opening on his staff for a top defensive assistant coach. Washington was Buffalo’s defensive line coach and associate head coach; McDermott took over play-calling responsibilities the previous season.
