Jaelyne Matthews, the offensive tackle from Toms River North, has developed a fondness for the Vols in recent months. This connection originated when he reached out to George MacIntyre, the quarterback from Brentwood Academy, on Twitter after MacIntyre’s commitment. Matthews inquired if MacIntyre required any offensive linemen to join him at the University of Tennessee.
Subsequently, Matthews made his inaugural unofficial visit to Knoxville, Tennessee, where the coaching staff effectively created a welcoming atmosphere during his first visit to the town. As a result, he has now arranged an official visit scheduled for this summer. Matthews is set to revisit Rocky Top on June 14. Furthermore, he has finalized plans for an official visit with the Georgia Bulldogs on June 21 and intends to make trips to Rutgers and Syracuse.
According to the 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, Matthews is positioned as the No. 98 prospect in the 2025 class. Standing at 6-5 and weighing 290 pounds, he is a key target for Tennessee at the offensive tackle position, particularly given the absence of commitments in this position for the 2025 class. The 2025 recruiting class for the Tennessee Volunteers includes notable names such as George MacIntyre (QB), Justin Baker (RB), Joakim Dodson (WR), Jack VanDorselaer (TE), Dylan Lewis (CB), and Tyler Redmond (CB).
