Latest Auburn News: Just In Auburn Tigers Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Talented Star

Auburn’s football program, under the leadership of Hugh Freeze, secured a commitment from 4-star cornerback Devin Williams on Monday. This commitment strengthens Auburn’s recruiting class for 2025, currently ranked seventh nationally. Williams, hailing from Buford, Georgia, and standing at 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, is the first defensive back to join the class, which now boasts nine commitments.

Despite being the 14th-rated cornerback in the 2025 class according to 247Sports, Williams received offers from prestigious programs, including the reigning national champions, Michigan, and SEC rivals such as Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi State. His decision to commit to Auburn reflects a significant addition to the team’s defensive lineup.

Williams, the 113th overall prospect in the 2025 class and the 18th-best in the state of Georgia, played a versatile role in 2023 for Buford High School’s 11-1 team, showcasing his skills on both sides of the ball. He demonstrated versatility by also contributing as a wide receiver alongside 5-star Nebraska commit Dylan Raoila. In addition to his football prowess, Williams has a background in track, participating in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

The recruitment of Williams was led by defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff and co-defensive coordinator Charles Kelly. His commitment marks the sixth defensive addition to Auburn’s 2025 class. With this promising recruitment, Hugh Freeze aims to solidify Auburn’s position in what could potentially become another top-10 recruiting class for the football program.
