James Ferentz, who just retired as a player at the end of the 2023 season, signs on with the New York Giants as an assistant OL coach.
James Ferentz, who announced his retirement from the NFL at the conclusion of the 2023 season, will join Brian Daboll’s coaching staff in the New York Giants organization.
With his appointment as the Giants’ assistant offensive line coach, 34-year-old Ferentz will report to new offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo.
Ferentz played for the New England Patriots for the previous six seasons. In 2020 and 2021, Bricillo served as an assistant coach for New England.
In 2014, Ferentz signed a free agent contract with the Houston Texans without being selected. He made just ten starts in his 61 games with the Patriots and Denver Broncos. He played some guard and center, but his primary position was center.
Ferentz joins an offensive line and coaching staff that have been completely redesigned. With Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemunor, Aaron Stinnie, Austin Schlottman, and Matt Nelson, Bricillo and Ferentz will have five fresh guys to work with.
