Good News: Just In Las Vegas Raiders Confirm To Select Top Talented SEC Star In First Round Draft

With the thirteenth pick in the NFL draft, the Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is chosen by the Las Vegas Raiders.
Originally from Napa, California, Brock Bowers remembers going to Oakland Raiders training camps while still in middle school. The quarterback at the time, Derek Carr, even signed an autograph for him. The team that used to train close by, the Las Vegas Raiders, select Bowers with the 13th choice in the NFL draft.

Bowers said from Napa, “It feels like things have come full circle.”

The Raiders have selected a tight end early in the draft for the second year in a row. They traded up to choose Notre Dame’s Michael Mayer in the second round of the previous year. Mayer caught 27 catches for 304 yards and two scores in a respectable debut campaign.

Raiders general manager Tom Telesco said, “We wanted to add another dynamic to our offense, but we think highly of Michael Mayer.” “On offense, we need more playmakers.”

Bowers had an outstanding senior season with 56 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns. He was named the John Mackey Award winner twice as the top tight end in college football.

Bowers voiced his delight in joining the Raiders, despite not having had any communication with them before to the draft.

He said, “I was really surprised.” “I was ecstatic to receive the call from Las Vegas.” Bowers, who is well-known for his adaptability, showed off his ability to line up anywhere on the field by playing a variety of roles while at Georgia.

“I like to play a variety of positions,” Bowers continued. “I’ll do everything the team asks of me with all of my heart.”

Bowers’ blocking abilities were also commended by Telesco, who noted that Bowers had been well-prepared by competing in the SEC against strong defenses like Georgia’s.
