Latest Vikings news: Just In Minnesota Vikings Confirm Departure Of Another Top Experienced Star

Vikings waive wide receiver, reducing their options for WRs as free agents
With Daylen Baldwin removed, the Vikings now have 90 players on the roster.
Wide receiver Daylen Baldwin was dismissed by the Vikings on Tuesday. After punter Seth Vernon was added last week, the move brings their offseason roster back down to the maximum of 90 players.

Before moving to Michigan in 2021, Baldwin played collegiate football at Jackson State and Morgan State, where he was teammates with J.J. McCarthy. The 6’2″ wide receiver was not selected in the 2022 draft and began his rookie campaign on the practice squad of the Browns. The Vikings then signed him in November of last year.

There will probably be more turnover at the bottom of the Vikings’ roster in the near future as they try to find every advantage on the margins and assemble the most competitive 90-man squad they can, with rookie minicamp taking place this weekend and OTAs starting after that.

Boyd joins the Titans
According to numerous sources, veteran Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd has agreed to a one-year contract with the Titans. He was among the top wide receivers available right now. Boyd reunites with Titans head coach and former Cincinnati offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, who had two seasons with 1,000 yards or more in his career. It is said that the Vikings were never interested.

This year, the Vikings signed only three unheralded undrafted free agents (UDFAs): Ty James, Devron Harper, and Jeshaun Jones. They did not pick a receiver. At this point, their options are rather limited if they want to bolster their wide receiver corps with a seasoned free agency. Hunter Renfrow, Michael Thomas, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Zay Jones, Russell Gage, and Allen Robinson are a few of the well-known figures that are still alive.

With K.J. Osborn gone, the Vikings might feel comfortable having Brandon Powell, Trent Sherfield, and Jalen Nailor battle it out for the WR3 spot. This is their current wide receiver depth chart, which is presented in a hypothetical order:

* N’Keal Harry * Malik Knowles * Thayer Thomas * Lucky Jackson * Ty James (R) * Devron Harper (R) * Jeshaun Jones (R) * Justin Jefferson * Jordan Addison * Brandon Powell * Trent Sherfield * Jalen Nailor * Trishton Jackson * Malik Knowles * James Blake
