Jackson Christian, a three-star IOL, chooses Texas over Texas A&M.
The Port Neches-Groves native is the first offensive lineman the Longhorns will sign in the 2025 recruiting class.
With the commitment on Monday of Jackson Christian, an interior offensive lineman from Port Neches-Groves, Kyle Flood and the Texas Longhorns have added another large person to their offensive line.
More than five weeks before Texas is scheduled to host him on the Forty Acres, the 6’5, 309-pound player made a commitment to the Longhorns, choosing not to wait for his official visitation process to conclude. Despite receiving offers from seven other colleges, including Houston, SMU, and UTSA, as well as scheduled official trips to Texas A&M and Texas Tech, Christian ultimately decided on head coach Steve Sarkisian’s program.
Following an in-person evaluation by Flood at a Texas summer camp in June, Christian accepted the Longhorns’ offer and returned for the team’s victory over Kansas in September of last year, this year’s Junior Day in January, and two spring trips to Austin.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Christian, a three-star prospect by consensus, is listed as the No. 30 interior offensive lineman and the No. 494 player nationally. In 2023, Port Neches-Groves won the Class 5A-Division II state championship with the aid of the large offensive linemen.
Christian is the sixth talent overall in a group that currently ranks No. 22 nationally and the first offensive lineman to commit to the Longhorns in the 2025 recruiting class.
