Good News:Just In LSU Tigers Top Targets Finally Commit To LSU After Visit Baton Rouge

Best Transfer More LSU football recruiting info and a commitment announcement are planned by Target.
The LSU football team is actively seeking some of the best transfer prospects still available in addition to high school recruits. LSU has welcomed both official and unofficial visits over the last week, and the university has a lot of positive news to share. These are the most important news items to keep an eye on this coming week.

Move Defensive Tackle Jay’Viar Suggs ends his stay and announces the date of his commitment.
Transfer defensive tackles are still being sought for by the LSU football team, with Jay’Viar Suggs presently holding the highest priority. The transfer from Grand Valley State wrapped up his visitation in Baton Rouge and formally announced his commitment date. Suggs is expected to make his commitment known on Wednesday night, and LSU seems to be in a strong position right now. Suggs would provide the team with a reliable defensive tackle option, and if Bo Davis can help him grow this summer, it’s reasonable to assume that the defense will improve significantly.

Best Defensive Tackle Recruit for 2026 Thoughts of Jakeem Stewart reclassifying
The LSU Tigers are hoping to add another five-star recruit to their talented class of 2025 recruits, but this one is a little more difficult to predict. The top recruit in Louisiana and the second-best prospect nationally, Jakeem Stewart, is thinking about reclassifying into the class of 2025. Given that Stewart only has one summer visit scheduled, which is to LSU, the Tigers are in an excellent position. Stewart has made more than 10 trips to Baton Rouge, and his friendship with LSU’s new defensive line coach Bo Davis might play a role in his recruitment.

An offer from LSU is made to a quarterback in 2026.
We reported last week that three quarterbacks from the 2026 recruiting class are targets for LSU. Brady Hart, a 2026 prospect and fourth quarterback, has received an offer from the Tigers. Hart is the 101st prospect overall and the eighth-ranked quarterback in the class. Although it will be difficult to defeat Notre Dame and the instate Florida colleges, LSU will be a contender for the Hart Award thanks to Joe Sloan and Brian Kelly’s resume.

Damien Shanklin, an edge rusher, ranks LSU among the top four.

The LSU Tigers are one of the four teams vying for 2025 edge rusher Damien Shanklin, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong. The four-star edge rusher comes in at number thirteen among edge rushers and 86th overall in the class. Shanklin, which is hosting him later this month after hosting him with an all-star cast at the Spring Game, puts LSU in a strong position. Even though LSU boasts a strong recruiting class, no edge rushers have committed as of yet.

Two stepbrother transfers are in play for the LSU Tigers.
Other defensive reinforcements might be on the way, even if the team’s main focus has been on acquiring defensive tackles through the transfer portal. Wesley Walker, a former Tennessee safety, and his stepbrother, edge rusher Tyler Baron, are being pursued by the team. The two, who are presently transferring from Louisville, might provide the defense some much-needed support. For Tennessee in 2023, Baron racked up 16 solo tackles, six sacks, and one forced fumble. Walker had a sack, a forced fumble, and 53 total tackles.

Top LSU target sets and an in-state running back Date of commitment
The LSU football team consistently performs a fantastic job of retaining the best players in the state of Louisiana. Seven of the top 10 prospects in the state have committed to the LSU football program, and in a few weeks, they might add an eighth. James Simon, a running back, declared his commitment to the On3 Elite Series on May 29.

Simon is the ninth-best running back in the nation, the fourth-best player in the state, and the 150th-best athlete overall. It appeared for a while that LSU would easily grab Simon, but it appears that other universities have caught up after obtaining JT Lindsey. Texas looks to have beaten LSU for Simon, but there’s always a possibility for LSU before National Signing Day.
