Breaking: Baltimore Ravens Confirm In Talk To Sign Top Experienced Saftety Star In Free Agency

### Ravens Seek Safety Addition Following Geno Stone’s Departure

The Baltimore Ravens, with Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton set as the starting safeties for 2024, are looking to add depth following the loss of Geno Stone in free agency. The team’s use of three-safety formations in 2023 allowed Hamilton to excel in various roles, particularly in the slot. However, with Stone gone and slot corner Arthur Maulet re-signed, Hamilton is expected to focus more on his primary safety duties.

Marcus Williams, despite his injury setbacks, remains a crucial part of the defense. He signed a five-year, $70 million contract but has only appeared in 24 games over two seasons due to injuries. At 27, Williams does not have any guaranteed salary left on his contract but is anticipated to be a key player moving forward, health permitting.

To bolster their safety depth, the Ravens are actively seeking a third safety, according to Ryan Mink from the team’s website. One internal candidate is Ar’Darius Washington, an undrafted free agent from 2021, who has limited game experience. The team also drafted Sanoussi Kane in the seventh round, but he is not expected to have a significant defensive role as a rookie.

Several veteran safeties remain on the market, including Jamal Adams, who visited Baltimore recently. Released by the Seahawks to cut costs, Adams is exploring new opportunities, and the Ravens could be a potential fit depending on mutual interest. Other available veterans include Justin Simmons, Quandre Diggs, Eddie Jackson, and Marcus Maye.

However, the Ravens face financial constraints, with only $5.7 million in cap space. This limits them to low-cost signings, but the abundance of free-agent safeties should allow for an affordable addition to their roster.
