Good News:Highly Rates Four-Star SEC Star Commits To Texas Longhorns Football

**Three-Star RB Reid Watkins Joins Texas as a Walk-On**

Formerly committed to Tulsa, Reid Watkins, a running back from Fort Worth All Saints, has decided to join the Texas Longhorns as a preferred walk-on. Watkins made this switch after being accepted into Texas.

Standing at 5’11” and weighing 195 pounds, Watkins had offers from several schools including Bethune-Cookman, Brown, Colgate, Houston, Navy, New Mexico State, and Troy. Additionally, he had preferred walk-on opportunities from Rice, TCU, and UTSA.

Rated as a three-star prospect by On3 and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Watkins benefits from the walk-on position that became available following running back Ky Woods’ transfer to Nevada. Although Watkins had multiple FBS offers and a profile similar to former Texas walk-ons who earned scholarships, the running back position at Texas may not provide the same opportunities.

Before transferring to All Saints from Brock, Watkins posted impressive stats with a 4.52 40-yard dash, 4.17 shuttle, and a 35-inch vertical leap.

Currently, junior Colin Page from Austin Anderson is another walk-on running back on the Texas roster.
