Pirates Promote RHP Daulton Jefferies from Triple-A
The Pittsburgh Pirates have called up right-hander Daulton Jefferies from Triple-A Indianapolis.
To make room on the roster, left-hander Justin Bruihl was optioned to Indianapolis.
Jefferies, 28, was acquired from the San Francisco Giants on May 10. He was previously recalled for a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers on May 29 but did not pitch.
Before the trade, Jefferies had a rough start with the Giants, posting a 0-2 record and a 17.36 ERA in two appearances (one start). In his MLB career, he is 2-10 with a 6.64 ERA over 16 appearances (11 starts) with the Oakland Athletics (2020-22) and Giants.
Bruihl, who will turn 27 on June 26, recorded no wins or losses and a 6.75 ERA in six relief appearances for Pittsburgh this season. His overall record includes a 2-2 with a 4.40 ERA in 78 appearances (two starts) with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2021-23), Colorado Rockies (2023), and Pirates.
