**Angel Reese Makes WNBA History with Latest Double-Double**
Angel Reese has set a new WNBA rookie record for consecutive double-doubles, achieving her seventh in a row during the Chicago Sky’s victory over the Dallas Wings on Thursday. This accomplishment surpasses the previous record held by Tina Charles and Cindy Brown. In the game, Reese recorded 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds, shooting 7 of 13 from the field, along with three assists and two steals, leading the Sky to an 83-72 win that ended their four-game losing streak.
The Sky had been struggling, losing six of their last seven games before this victory. Reflecting on the win, Reese expressed her joy: “I’m just happy we finally won — and at home,” she told ESPN. “It’s super exciting, obviously, for myself, and I try to give myself some grace and tell myself I’m doing a good job. I have so much more to grow, and I’m just excited to be in this league and excited to win some more.”
Reese has been impressive through 13 games, averaging 12.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Although her season shooting percentage is 38%, she has improved to 48% over her last five games. Only A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces averages more rebounds per game (11.3) than Reese.
During the 2022-2023 NCAA season, Reese set a record with 34 double-doubles in her first year at LSU. The Sky will next face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday at 2 p.m. on ESPN. The Fever have won both previous encounters with the Sky this season.
