**Tre Poteat Commits to Tennessee Volunteers**
The Tennessee Volunteers have bolstered their 2025 recruiting class by securing a commitment from defensive back Tre Poteat.
Poteat, a three-star recruit, is ranked as the 545th player in his class, the 48th-best cornerback, and the fourth-best player in Wisconsin. He chose Tennessee over offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa State, committing shortly after an official visit to Knoxville.
This commitment follows the recent addition of offensive lineman Douglas Utu, who is ranked as the No. 53 prospect in the 2025 class by the On3 Industry Rankings. Utu selected Tennessee over Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington, influenced by his recent official visit to the campus.
With Poteat’s commitment, Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class now includes 15 players. The standout recruit in the group is five-star quarterback George MacIntyre.
