Official Twins News: Minnesota Twins Confirm To Loose Another Top Expereinced Star From Squad

**Twins Place Chris Paddack on IL Due to Arm Fatigue**

The Minnesota Twins have placed starting pitcher Chris Paddack on the 15-day injured list due to right arm fatigue, announced on Tuesday.

Paddack has a 5-3 record in 15 starts this season with a 5.29 ERA, accumulating 70 strikeouts and 18 walks over 78 1/3 innings. His last two starts were against the Oakland Athletics. Last Friday, he gave up three earned runs on five hits, striking out three and walking three in 4 2/3 innings. In a doubleheader against the A’s last Sunday, he allowed five earned runs on five hits with no strikeouts and one walk in just 2 1/3 innings.

Paddack’s velocity has recently decreased, and he has mentioned experiencing “dead arm” publicly, which is concerning given his return from a second Tommy John surgery late last season.

Louie Varland is likely to replace Paddack, despite his struggles this year with an 0-4 record and a 6.58 ERA.

The Twins begin a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night with a 43-35 record, sitting eight games behind the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central Division and one game ahead of the Kansas City Royals. They currently hold the second spot in the AL Wild Card race. The Twins have used only six starting pitchers this season, tied for the fewest in MLB.
