**Raptors, Immanuel Quickley Agree to Five-Year, $175M Deal**
The Toronto Raptors and guard Immanuel Quickley have agreed to a five-year, $175 million contract, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Quickley’s agent, Raymond Brothers, finalized the deal with the Raptors’ front office recently.
Toronto had the option to extend a $6.1 million qualifying offer to Quickley for the 2024-25 season, which would have made him a restricted free agent this summer. Instead, the team opted to secure him with a new contract.
Quickley can sign the multi-year deal on July 6, once the NBA’s moratorium period concludes. In December 2023, the New York Knicks traded Quickley and RJ Barrett to the Raptors in exchange for OG Anunoby.
During the 2023-24 season, Quickley played 68 games (38 starts) between the Knicks and Raptors, averaging career highs of 17 points, 4.9 assists, and 29.2 minutes per game. The 25-year-old also achieved career-best shooting percentages of 43.4% from the field, 39.5% from three-point range, and 85.3% from the free-throw line. His player efficiency rating (16.7) and offensive box plus/minus (2.2) were also career highs.
Quickley appeared in 38 games (all starts) for Toronto last season, averaging 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 33.3 minutes per game. On March 7, he set a career high with 18 assists against the Phoenix Suns. He also scored a career-high 32 points against the Brooklyn Nets on April 10 and helped end the Raptors’ 15-game losing streak with 25 points in a 117-111 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Despite Quickley’s standout performances, Toronto finished the season with a 25-57 record, missing the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons.
This announcement follows reports that the Raptors plan to sign All-Star guard Scottie Barnes to a five-year maximum rookie extension, potentially worth up to $270 million.
