Good News: Arizona Diamondbacks Confirm To Welcome Another Top Experienced Star To Squad

**Diamondbacks Activate Zac Gallen from IL for Start Against A’s**

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have activated ace Zac Gallen from the injured list to start Saturday’s game against the Oakland Athletics.

Gallen (5-4, 3.12 ERA) had left his previous start on May 30 against the New York Mets after facing just one batter due to a right hamstring strain, which led to his placement on the injured list.

Last season, Gallen posted a 17-9 record with a 3.47 ERA, playing a crucial role in leading the Diamondbacks to the World Series. He also started for the National League in the 2023 All-Star Game.

The 28-year-old holds a career record of 44-35 with a 3.20 ERA. In 2022, he led the NL with the fewest walks and hits per inning pitched (0.91).

To accommodate Gallen’s return, Arizona has optioned left-hander Brandon Hughes to Triple-A Reno. Hughes had a 10.29 ERA over 14 innings for the Diamondbacks, allowing eight home runs, including three in a single inning on Friday against the A’s.
