**Milwaukee Bucks Sign Veterans Delon Wright and Taurean Prince**
One issue that frustrated Lakers fans last season was Darvin Ham’s reliance on Taurean Prince, who started 49 games despite the team being outscored by 2.7 points per 100 possessions when he was on the floor. Ham is now returning to Milwaukee as an assistant on Doc Rivers’ staff, and Prince is following him.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the veteran forward has agreed to a contract with the Bucks. This marks a busy period for Milwaukee, who also signed veteran wing Delon Wright, formerly with the Miami Heat, within the last 24 hours. Both players are joining the team on veteran minimum deals, which is what Milwaukee can offer.
While Lakers fans may scoff at Prince’s signing, it’s a smart move for the Bucks. In a limited role off the bench, playing around 20 minutes per game, Prince is a valuable addition. He averaged 8.9 points per game last season and shot 39.6% from three-point range, providing much-needed floor spacing.
Wright is a solid rotational combo guard who shot 36.8% from three last season and is known for his defensive prowess, particularly in deflecting passes. His exact role in the rotation is unclear, but he could be crucial in defending elite guards alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez.
Milwaukee has had a quiet offseason, but the hope is that the second year of the Antetokounmpo-Damian Lillard partnership, coupled with a stable coaching staff and good health, will propel them to the top of the Eastern Conference. Solid role players like Prince and Wright will be key to achieving this goal.
