**Defensive Lineman Zion Williams Commits to LSU Tigers on July 4th**
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The LSU Tigers celebrated Independence Day with a significant commitment from Zion Williams, a defensive lineman from Lufkin, Texas, on July 4th.
Williams, a 4-star recruit, chose LSU over Texas and Texas A&M.
“Why LSU? It felt like home immediately when I first visited,” Williams told On3 recruiting. “It reminded me of Lufkin, where I was familiar and comfortable.”
Williams is ranked as the No. 20 defensive lineman by Rivals, No. 31 by On3, and No. 33 by 247 Sports.
One of the key factors in Williams’ decision was LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis, who joined the Tigers this offseason from Texas.
Williams becomes the 13th commit for LSU’s 2025 recruiting class and the second from Texas.
LSU’s 2025 class ranks No. 4 by On3, No. 8 by 247 Sports, and No. 11 by Rivals.
