Breaking: Top Experienced HNL Star Finally Agrees Deal To Join Vegas Golden Knights

Golden Knights Sign Robert Hagg and Callahan Burke

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenseman Robert Hagg and forward Callahan Burke to one-year contracts.

Hagg’s deal is a one-way contract worth $775,000, while Burke’s is a two-way contract also worth $775,000. Last season, Hagg played for the Anaheim Ducks and their AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, on a one-year, $775,000 contract with Anaheim. Hagg played five games with the Ducks without scoring any points and appeared in 47 games with the Gulls, scoring three goals and 12 points.

Hagg was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round (41st overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. The Uppsala, Sweden native debuted in the NHL with the Flyers during the 2016–17 season. Over 343 career games across seven NHL seasons with the Flyers, Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings, and Ducks, Hagg has recorded 16 goals and 63 points. He has also contributed three assists in 14 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Burke spent the 2023-24 season with the Carolina Hurricanes and the Colorado Avalanche’s AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles, appearing in one NHL game. After being traded to Carolina last fall and remaining with the Eagles due to the Hurricanes lacking an AHL affiliate, Burke amassed 16 goals and 39 points in 57 games with the Eagles, and added three points in three Calder Cup playoff games.

After four years at the University of Notre Dame, where he served as captain in 2019-20, the Boxborough, Massachusetts native signed his first professional contract in 2020, spending two years exclusively with the Eagles. Burke made his NHL debut last year, recording no points in two games.
