Good News: Minnesota Twins Confirm To Welcome Another Top Experienced Star To Squad

**Twins Recall Matt Wallner from Triple-A**

The Minnesota Twins have been active with roster changes this week. After being sent down earlier, Matt Wallner is getting another shot with the team.

The Twins have been busy, moving two top prospects: David Festa returned to St. Paul after struggling in his first two MLB starts, and Brooks Lee has impressed in his MLB debut. Josh Winder took Festa’s spot, and now Matt Wallner is set to join the roster. According to The Athletic’s Aaron Gleeman, Wallner will be called up from St. Paul before Sunday’s game against the Astros.

Wallner, who struggled offensively early in the season, has since improved significantly in Triple-A, hitting .331 over his last 33 games with an .888 OPS. No corresponding move was necessary since Wallner was already on the 40-man roster.

Wallner started the season poorly, hitting just .080 in 25 at-bats with a -0.1 WAR. However, he has worked hard to return to form, reminiscent of the player who contributed to the Twins’ ALDS run last season.

This isn’t the first turnaround the Twins have seen this year. Jose Miranda also rebounded from a slump and injury troubles to become one of the hottest hitters in the league, tying an MLB record with 12 consecutive base hits. The Twins hope Wallner can similarly reignite his offense and help maintain the team’s strong performance at the plate.
