Latest Miami Heat News: Just In Heat Confirm To Waive Another Top Experienced Star Following High Salary Demands

The Miami Heat announced on Sunday that they have waived center Orlando Robinson before his $2.1 million salary for the upcoming season became guaranteed on July 15.

Robinson is now an unrestricted free agent. This move was anticipated following the Heat’s additions of Kel’el Ware and the re-signings of Kevin Love and Thomas Bryant to strengthen their frontcourt.

Robinson, who turns 24 on Wednesday, went undrafted out of Fresno State in 2022. He spent most of his first NBA season on a two-way contract with the Heat in 2022-23 before being promoted to a standard contract last offseason, just before impressing in the summer league.

However, Robinson struggled to secure a consistent role with the Heat last season, appearing in only 36 games and averaging 2.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He also spent time playing in the G League with the Heat’s developmental affiliate.
