Dallas Mavericks Eyeing Malachi Flynn for Roster Spot
As the NBA free agency period winds down and most top free agents have signed with new teams, the Dallas Mavericks still have work to do. With one open roster spot, they are exploring options to bolster their chances of making the NBA Finals next season.
While the Mavericks are interested in re-signing Markieff Morris, they are also looking to add depth to their backcourt. One player on their radar is Malachi Flynn.
Flynn, who played for the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons last season, averaged 5.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.6 steals per game, shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from three-point range. His standout moment came with the Pistons when he scored 50 points against the Atlanta Hawks.
Known for his scoring ability and ball-handling skills, Flynn excels at creating shots in the mid-range and at the rim. He is also a confident shooter, capable of making plays both off the catch and off the dribble. These attributes would make him a valuable asset to the Mavericks’ bench.
At 26 years old, Flynn fits the Mavericks’ strategy of acquiring young players who can contribute immediately. He would provide leadership on offense and serve as a complementary scorer, aligning well with the team’s timeline and goals.
Flynn would be a great addition to the Mavericks, and they should seriously consider signing him.
