Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell represented England U21s in their European Qualifying match, and he excelled in their 9-1 triumph.
The young Three Lions put up a strong performance, moving them to the top of their qualifying group with two victories out of two.
Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell started the game, and he should be quite happy of his performance.
This performance would have given manager Daniel Farke pause for thought when picking the Leeds defense during the international break.
Charlie Cresswell shows he has a bright future with top performance
The England U21 side did concede a goal on the night and it was actually the first goal scored in the match.
They were able to turn things around, and the ‘outstanding’ Cresswell was excellent in defense, producing some high stats.
According to SofaScore, the 21-year-old had one clearance, two interceptions, one tackle, and 98 touches in the England U21 match.
He also led the way with eight aerial duels won, which was even more astounding because he won all of his attempted aerial duels.
The fact that the centre-back is a key starter for the England U21’s and is putting in top performances shows that he has a very bright future.
Farke has played Cresswell four times in the Championship this season but has only started him once. There is no need to rush Cresswell into the starting lineup at Leeds but there is no doubt that he could become a key player in the near future.
