Good News: Just In Another Top Talented 5-Star Commits To The Florida State Seminoles

A second prospective defensive back has committed to Florida State.
In 2023, Florida State football won a conference championship and had an undefeated regular season. It is not unusual for multiple contributors to carry their skills to the NFL because of the high level of accomplishment.

The aspirations of defensive backs like Jarrian Jones, Akeem Dent, and Renardo Green to play professional football were fulfilled. Patrick Surtain Sr., the position coach, faces a difficult task in trying to stock the position room.

Surtain Sr. took advantage of the opportunity to sign four prospects—Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III—in the 2024 recruiting class. But Florida State needs to use many defensive backs because of the Seminoles’ 4-2-5 defensive scheme.
Defense coordinator Adam Fuller utilizes defensive back prospects extensively, but as I always say, you can never have too many of them. Gregory “Zae” Thomas, a four-star cornerback from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is already a member of the Seminoles.

I predict that Florida State will select three defensive backs in the class at the very least. On Tuesday night, three-star safety Max Redmon from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm, Florida, committed to the Seminoles, adding another talented recruit to the roster.

You shouldn’t worry too much about Redmon’s three-star rating, in my opinion. He reminds me a lot of Florida State safety Shyheim Brown, a former three-star prospect from the Class of 2021 who is currently underappreciated and played a variety of positions in high school.
Watch Redmon’s tape to see a versatile prospect with good coverage in space, a high level of speed, and the ability to rush downhill to make a stop. Redmon is employed at safety, linebacker, defensive end, and wide receiver.

Coach of defensive backs Patrick Surtain Sr. believes Florida State has a hidden gem on the defensive end of the ball that he can develop into something very exceptional.
