Good News: Top Experienced NBA All-Star Who Reject Offer From Boston Celtics Finally Sign A Mind Blowing Deal With Heat

Free agent Alec Burks has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Heat, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal was negotiated by Anthony Fields and Rich Paul of Klutch Sports with the Heat front office, though the terms were not disclosed by the team.

Burks, who was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the New York Knicks last season, averaged 6.5 points in 13.5 minutes per game.

He saw increased playing time in the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Indiana Pacers due to OG Anunoby’s injury, where he averaged nearly 18 points on 51% shooting over five games, proving his capability as a key scorer off the bench.

Last season, Burks averaged 10.4 points per game and shot 38% from the three-point range. A veteran shooting guard at 6-foot-6, Burks has consistently averaged over 10 points per game since the 2019-20 season, mostly coming off the bench. The 13-year NBA veteran, who will turn 33 on July 20, is joining the Heat after completing a three-year, $30 million contract signed in 2021.
