Done Deal: Another Top Talented 4-Star DL Commits To Texas Longhorns Football

**Texas Longhorns Secure 4-Star Oregon DL Josiah Sharma**

The Texas Longhorns achieved a significant recruiting victory on Thursday by flipping four-star defensive tackle Josiah Sharma from his previous commitment to the Oregon Ducks.

Following the Texas Bash event in Austin, where several top recruits were present, Sharma made a surprise visit to the Longhorns. With the assistance of new defensive line coach Kenny Baker, Texas managed to persuade Sharma to join their program.

“After a long and deep conversation with the University of Texas, I feel like I’m home,” Sharma announced on Twitter.

Sharma becomes the third defensive line commitment for the Longhorns, joining edge rushers Lance Jackson and Smith Orogbo. The 6’4″, 320-pound defensive tackle had been a key target for Texas as Baker aimed to bolster the 2025 defensive line class. His ratings vary across different platforms, with composites listing him as a three-star, while On3 ranks him as the 83rd overall player and a top-seven defensive lineman in the 2025 class.

The Sacramento native is one of several top recruits being pursued by both the Longhorns and Ducks for the 2025 class, including five-star receiver Dakorien Moore, athlete Michael Terry III, and linebacker Jonah Williams, who also have Texas and Oregon as their top choices.

While the Ducks previously secured commitments from Moore and Sharma, Sharma’s decision to join the Longhorns represents a major boost for Texas.
