Latest Knick News: Just In New York Knick Confirm The Sign Of Another Top Talented Star

The New York Knicks have finalized an agreement with second-round draft pick Kevin McCullar on a two-way contract, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. McCullar, a 23-year-old small forward from Kansas, was selected by the Knicks with the 56th overall pick in the recent NBA Draft.

McCullar, who was unable to participate in the Summer League due to a knee issue, had a standout season for the Jayhawks. During his senior year, he was named to the first-team All-Big 12 after averaging impressive stats of 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. His defensive prowess was also recognized, as he earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive team and was honored with third-team all-conference accolades. Before transferring to Kansas in 2022, McCullar spent three seasons at Texas Tech, where he further developed his skills and reputation.

With McCullar’s deal, the Knicks will have one open slot remaining for a two-way contract. Currently, Ariel Hukporti is signed to one of the team’s two-way contracts, and there is also an outstanding two-way qualifying offer for Jacob Toppin. The addition of McCullar adds depth to the Knicks’ roster as they continue to shape their lineup for the upcoming season.

As of now, McCullar is among several 2024 draft picks who have yet to secure contracts. Notable players still without deals include Kyle Filipowski of the Utah Jazz, Nikola Djurisic of the Atlanta Hawks, Enrique Freeman of the Indiana Pacers, and Quinten Post of the Golden State Warriors. The ongoing negotiations for these players highlight the dynamic nature of roster building as teams finalize their preseason preparations.
