Latest Suns News: Suns Sign Another Top Talented Star

Today, the Phoenix Suns announced that guard TyTy Washington Jr. has agreed to a two-way contract with the franchise. The deal’s terms were not revealed in accordance with team policy.

With the Milwaukee Bucks (2023–24) and Houston Rockets (2022–23), Washington (6’-3”, 195 pounds) has participated in 42 games during the course of two NBA seasons. On February 4, 2023, he scored a career-high 20 points. Last season, he also played for the NBA G League’s Wisconsin Herd, finishing 15th in the league in terms of points scored (21.3), eighth in terms of assists (8.3), and 20th in terms of three-point percentage (42.6%). Washington, who was originally selected with the 29th overall choice in the 2022 NBA Draft, participated in the 2022–23 season as a player for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League. In the regular season, he tied for the league lead with two triple-doubles, and in the playoffs, he averaged a league-high 29.8 points.


Washington, a native of Phoenix, attended the University of Kentucky for one season as a college student and was chosen for the Kyle Macy Freshmen All-America Team for 2021–2022. After completing his studies at Chandler’s AZ Compass Prep, the 22-year-old was named the 2020–21 MaxPreps Arizona High School Basketball Player of the Year. He started his high school career at Phoenix’s Cesar Chavez High School.
