Good News: Just In LSU Tigers Confirm Another Major Boost As Former Five-Star Player Return To BATON ROUGE

**BATON ROUGE** – Former LSU Basketball forward Johnny O’Bryant III returned to LSU and received his degree in Sports Administration during the school’s commencement ceremony on Friday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

O’Bryant, originally from Cleveland, Mississippi, completed his degree fully online through LSU’s Project Graduation program. The initiative is designed to help former student-athletes complete their graduation requirements and earn their degrees, aiding their future careers and personal goals. Project Graduation actively reaches out to former athletes and offers them support through various services, including academic advising, degree audits, and career counseling.

 

O’Bryant played three years at LSU under head coaches Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones, earning first-team All-SEC honors in 2013 and 2014. During his time with the Tigers, the team won 57 games and participated in the NIT in 2012 and 2014. O’Bryant is one of only 44 players in LSU history to score over 1,000 points, finishing his college career with 1,157 points, averaging 12.7 points per game and 7.2 rebounds over 91 games.

After being selected in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, O’Bryant played four seasons in the NBA with the Bucks, Denver Nuggets, and Charlotte Hornets. Over 147 NBA games, he averaged 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

O’Bryant also had a successful international career, playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he won the 2019 Israeli League Championship, as well as in Russia, the Adriatic League, Turkey, and the Korean Basketball League. Most recently, he has played in the Chinese Basketball Association and in Japan.
