Done Deal: Just In Another 5-Star Defensive back Officially commits to the Florida Gators over Miami And Alabama

A significant instate legacy target committed to Florida on Friday, giving the Florida Gators their 13th pledge of the Class of 2025.

Florida defeated Louisville and Miami on Friday when defensive back Ben Hanks Jr. (6-1, 170, Miami, FL. Booker T. Washington) committed to the Gators.

Hanks is the son of former Gators linebacker Ben Hanks. Hanks and Vernell Brown III are the two legacy commits on the coaching staff.

Before defensive backs coach Will Harris arrived on campus, Hanks was a player the Gators were behind for. The defensive back is regarded as one of the best prospects at his position.

After racking up 38 tackles and six interceptions as a junior, including three that he recovered for a score, Hanks was chosen for the Miami Dolphins’ All-Star team. Additionally, Hanks stopped three of Booker T. Washington’s field goals.
Hanks, a cornerback, has accounted for 11 interceptions in his three years at Booker T. Washington.

Hanks is the first defensive back commit in the class. Will Harris, the defensive backs coach, has the Gators in the running for multiple top targets at the position. The team hopes to add at least one more corner and a couple of safety.
