Good News: Just In Top Talented SEC 5-Star Officially Commits To Florida Gators Football After Declining Alabama, FSU And Auburn Tigers

Wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery has committed to the Florida Gators, becoming the 14th commitment for their 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect from Miami Central High School chose Florida over other major programs, including LSU and Penn State, announcing his decision on Sunday.

Montgomery’s choice was significantly influenced by Florida’s coaching staff, particularly head coach Billy Napier and receivers coach Billy Gonzales. He appreciated Napier’s experience in developing wide receivers and was impressed with Gonzales’s track record at the position. “It was great just knowing as a head coach he knows how to develop receivers as well as coach Gonzales, and I really like the history they have with all the receivers,” Montgomery explained.

During his official visit to Gainesville, Montgomery was also able to spend time with DJ Lagway, which played a crucial role in his decision. Lagway, a talented quarterback recruit, expressed a strong desire for Montgomery to join him at Florida, emphasizing the importance of having a reliable receiver.

Montgomery noted, “It means a lot, mainly because without a good quarterback you really can’t do nothing as a receiver. Every time I met with DJ, he really just said he wants me and he wants me to be his X receiver.”

The Florida coaching staff’s persistent communication also helped secure Montgomery’s commitment. “I really like their communication. They never stop texting me, they check on my family, and that’s really like my main thing,” Montgomery said, highlighting the importance of building a personal relationship with the staff.

Montgomery is the third wide receiver to commit to the Gators in the 2025 class, joining fellow recruits Vernell Brown III and Joshua Moore. His addition strengthens Florida’s receiving corps and adds depth to a promising class that is looking to make a significant impact in the coming years.
