Good News: Just In Miami Hurricanes Officially Announced The Commitment Of Another 4-Star RB

**Miami Football’s Position with 4-star RB Byron Louis Before September 21 Commitment**

The Miami football team is among the final four contenders for four-star running back Byron Louis as his commitment decision on September 21 approaches.

Miami has some catching up to do before Louis, a four-star running back from American Heritage, announces his commitment. According to 247Sports and On3, Florida State is currently the frontrunner for Louis.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Florida State a 91.7% chance of landing Louis. Zach Blostein of Noles247 has submitted the only 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction for Louis to commit to Florida State. Miami is given a 3.6% chance, while Georgia stands at 1.7%, according to On3.

Wisconsin is also in the mix but with less than a 3% chance of getting Louis. Louis made official visits to Miami, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Florida State in June, in that order. He has visited Miami nine times, the most of any school, followed by four visits each to Florida State and Georgia.

In his junior year in 2023, Louis rushed for 1,224 yards and scored 18 touchdowns, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Over his high school career, he has accumulated 1,849 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns, including 11 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2024. Notably, Miami’s current sophomore RB, Mark Fletcher, also attended American Heritage before Louis.

For the 2025 class, Miami has only one running back commitment so far, four-star prospect Girard Pringle Jr. from Seffner, Armwood. Miami might only sign one running back in the 2025 class, as all current RBs on their roster have eligibility remaining beyond 2024. In fact, four of Miami’s running backs have at least three years of eligibility left beyond the 2024 season.

Both of Miami’s starting cornerbacks, Damari Brown and Darryl Porter, are also alumni of American Heritage. Currently, Miami’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked 10th in the 247Sports composite rankings. While Louis would be a significant addition, the Hurricanes remain in contention for other top prospects.
