Brandon Parker, an experienced offensive lineman, has found a new team, signing a contract with the Atlanta Falcons, according to a report from Josh Kendall of The Athletic. This move comes after Parker’s brief stint with the San Francisco 49ers, and after spending the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Las Vegas Raiders. Now at 28 years old, Parker is expected to enhance the depth of Atlanta’s offensive line.
Parker originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick by the Raiders in the 2018 NFL Draft out of North Carolina A&T, where he was a standout tackle. He quickly became a significant piece in the Raiders’ offensive line, stepping in for both starting and backup roles. Over the course of his five years with the team, Parker proved to be a versatile lineman, playing both left and right tackle positions as needed. Despite some struggles with consistency, his size, experience, and adaptability made him a reliable option to call upon during his time with the Raiders.
In his time with Las Vegas, Parker played in 54 games, starting in 32 of them. His playing time fluctuated, often filling in for injured starters, but he remained a valuable depth piece on the roster. However, Parker missed the entire 2022 season due to a triceps injury he suffered in training camp, which ultimately led to his release from the Raiders. After recovering, he was picked up by the 49ers for the 2023 season, but his time in San Francisco was short-lived as he did not secure a permanent role with the team.
Now with the Falcons, Parker’s role will likely be similar to what it was in his earlier years—providing depth to the offensive line and being ready to step in when needed. Atlanta’s offensive line is a critical component of their strategy, especially with the team leaning on a strong run game and protecting young quarterback Desmond Ridder.
