Good News: Another Five -Star Commit To Texas Longhorns

Just one day before Texas takes the field to kick up their 2024 season against Colorado State, five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench gave the Longhorns a huge Class of 2025 triumph on Friday morning by announcing his commitment to the university. French is the third five-star recruit to pledge to the Longhorns in August. He picked Texas over Miami, LSU, and Tennessee.

He tracks wide receiver Kaliq Lockett and safety Jonah Williams, two alumni of the Texas high school football scene.

“Oh yes, Texas all the way, it’s 110% done. No additional trips are planned. Only trips are made to Texas.” Ffrench told Tom Loy of 247Sports.
Playing for Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, Ffrench is ranked as the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 25 prospect in the country. Texas and Oregon are the only two schools that currently have commitments from two of the top 10 wide receivers in the country in Lockett, the No. 2 wide receiver.

Additionally, Texas has signed a five-star wide receiver for the second straight class, and the Longhorns have signed a player ranked in the top ten at the position for the third straight class. Ryan Wingo, ranked 32nd in the country in 2024, had a strong offseason with Texas and might see playing time right away as a true freshman.

Hank South of Horns247 was informed by Ffrench’s high school coach that Ffrench is “one of one.”

Tony Bullock remarked, “He’s an extraordinary talent, but not probably why people think.” Not every football player has the gift of being a natural pass catcher. He is, too.”
