Breaking: Philadelphia Phillies Handed Another Injury Blow As Another Top Phillies All-Star Confirmed Out Of Lineup

**Phillies’ Alec Bohm Sidelined Due to Hand Injury**

Philadelphia Phillies All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm was not in the starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Atlanta Braves because of a left hand injury. Bohm injured his hand during an at-bat in Thursday’s 5-4 win over the Braves. The injury occurred on a swing in the first inning, and Edmundo Sosa replaced him before the third inning.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson explained before Friday’s game that Bohm had “a little inflammation” in his hand, but X-rays showed no structural damage. “We got a break,” Thomson said, referring to the absence of serious injury.

Bohm was receiving treatment during Friday’s game, with the hope that he might recover enough to be available as a pinch hitter. However, Thomson was uncertain if Bohm would return to the starting lineup on Saturday.

In his fifth MLB season, Bohm leads the league with 44 doubles in 131 games. He is batting .290 with 13 home runs and 89 RBIs. Sosa filled in at third base on Friday night. The Phillies started the day six games ahead of the Braves in the National League East.
